Prof. Dalton takes the helm from Robert Thompson who served as department chair for six years.

We welcome Tracey Dalton as the new Chair of the Marine Affairs Department.  Prof. Dalton came to URI in 2002.  She teaches undergraduate courses including Human Use and Management of the Marine Environment and Coastal Zone Management as well as graduate courses on the management of marine protected areas.  Her research covers a variety of topics that relate to human interactions with coastal & marine systems.  Currently she is working on projects with colleagues and student researchers to better understand Rhode Islanders’ views on shellfish aquaculture, user interactions in RI’s salt ponds, use of emerging technologies in coastal monitoring, and the impacts of off-shore wind farms on recreational activities.

Prof. Dalton takes the helm from Robert Thompson who served as department chair for six years. Thanks, Prof. Thompson, for all your hard work!
