The degree allows the student to take a diverse set of courses in the liberal arts and social sciences.<\/p>\n<p>30 credits (minimum) in MAF B.A. courses<br \/>\n3 credits in statistics<br \/>\n3 credits in oceanography<\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to pursue internships, as they often create an important link between the university and applied, professional settings.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 120 credits is required for graduation.<\/p>\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  \"><h1>Academic Options<\/h1><p>The MAF B.A. major may be combined with other majors such as Aquaculture and Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Geosciences, Natural Resources Science, Political Science, and Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.<\/p>\n<p>Students may earn a double major or a major and minor through such combined study.<\/p><\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bachelor of Arts in Marine Affairs Curriculum All students admitted to the University of Rhode Island are eligible to major in MAF B.A. (formally, Coastal and Marine Policy Studies.)
