Glocester Heritage Gardens

Dr. Reuben Mason House Medicinal Garden
1043 Putnam Pike | Chepachet, RI 02814

Started in 2012 by a group of Master Gardeners, the Garden grows medicinal herbs that Dr. Reuben Mason, a physician during the mid 1700’s in Glocester, would have used to treat his patients. His home on the site has been restored by our host organization, the Glocester Heritage Society, and public tours of the house occur during times the garden is open for public presentations in the Garden.

A popular place for photographers who stop to visit, the Garden is alive with fragrance, color, and an abundance of pollinators. A lovely sensory experience awaits visitors. Several public presentations are planned each summer to educate visitors on subjects like How to Divide Perennial Plants, Seed Collection and Storage, Colonial Herbs that Work Today, and others.

Master Gardeners are at work in the Garden and available to answer your gardening questions on selected Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Please contact Karen at karenlambe@cox.net for dates and times.
