Roger Williams Park Botanical Center Display Gardens

1000 Elmwood Avenue | Providence, RI 02905

The URI Extension Outreach Center supports an educational facility in the Botanical Center at Roger Williams Park. Through this facility, URI provides educational programs and information to the general public from the Greater Providence and Southern New England region. URI Master Gardener volunteers serve as docents, helping maintain the public plant collections/teaching gardens.  The garden themes include summer garden perennials, winter garden plants, apline garden, rose maze, parallel worlds (Asian plants with their North American counterparts) and a rain garden.

In 2016, volunteers from the Display Garden teams meet when the gardens are open to the public to ensure that they’re available to answer questions and interact with visitors.  These volunteers also work with the Botanial Center Manager to help maintain the plant tags and phenology project.
