Since its founding in 1971 by a small but passionate group of women mathematicians, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) has grown into the leading national society for women in the mathematical sciences. The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics is to champion women\u2019s contributions to mathematics and to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical and scientific endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
URI\u2019s chapter was founded in 2024 by Faith Bailey (M.S. \u201825), Carmen Ferrara (Ph. D. \u201826) and Julianna Sims (M.S. \u201825).
