The Asian Students Association at the University of Rhode Island, founded in 1985, is a Student Senate recognized organization since 1987. ASA is an inclusive organization on campus with richness in culture and diversity with students from various ethnic backgrounds. ASA promotes ethnic and cultural awareness in the appreciation of the diversity that exists within the Asian community. ASA achieves these goals by organizing various social events in the spirit of entertainment, friendship, and unity.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Alima International Dance Association (AIDA) was founded in 2005 and is a multicultural organization that brings diversity and unity to URI through musical artistry. We seek to enhance the community with awareness and appreciation of worldwide cultures through our artistry in dance.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

eXposure<\/h2>

eXposure is a multicultural dance organization whose goal is to spread knowledge of various cultures through dance. eXposure wants to give back to the community by creating fundraisers, attending community projects and perform at local events to eXposure them to the different forms of dances there are around the world. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Black Student Union<\/h2>

The Black Student Union is here to enhance the undergraduate experience of Black students and students of color at the University of Rhode Island. The BSU would allow marginalized groups to bring their voices to the people in charge, without being filtered by others who represent our woes. It is our right as students who pay to attend this institution to feel that we matter. <\/p><\/div><\/div>

URI Anime Club<\/h2>

Anime club is a community oriented meeting of individuals that appreciate Japanese animation and culture. For over two decades, URI\u2019s anime club has been bringing students together and creating lasting friendships and memories. While watching and discussing anime is the club\u2019s outward identity, the club\u2019s main goal is to create and sustain an environment where people can have a good time, be themselves and relax adjacent from busy college life. Between viewing, discussing and activities, Anime Club serves as a fun and entertaining diversion that all students need.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

CELS Seeds of Success<\/h2>

Seeds of Success is a student-run organization open to all CELS students, and focused on supporting CELS students from historically underrepresented populations attain a holistic educational experience at URI. Our long-term aim is for students to succeed academically, professionally, and socially by providing a physical and social space within which they can develop a sense of community, as well as leadership and team-building skills both at URI and in their next phase of life. ACSL objective is to bridge the gap between alumni of color and students of color by establishing a robust network of opportunities within the URI community. Sankofa<\/h2>

Sankofa is a Bible based Multicultural organization that is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the University. We want to spread the Gospel, create a safe house and a community to give back to our school. We strive to create a diverse group with intentional relationships with one another. We have weekly meetings on Wednesday’s at 7pm where we play games and talk about the Gospel and we also occasionally plan worship nights!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Rhody Christian Fellowship<\/h2>

RCF strives to help each student to know and follow Jesus Christ, no matter their previous understanding of Christ or Christianity as a whole. We have weekly worship gatherings, Bible studies led by our campus minister, and small groups led by student leaders. We also encourage each student to engage in the Christian community of RCF with occasional dinners and retreats during the academic year.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Sojourn Collegiate Ministry<\/h2>

Sojourn is built around community, justice, and faith. We want\u00a0everyone to have a place to belong & we want to have as much fun as possible along the way. We believe a just world starts with individuals’ actions & we’re always looking for ways to leave the world better than we found it. Sojourn strives to be a safe & non-judgemental place to explore faith and ask life’s big questions. We are a Christian group, but you certainly don’t have to be a Christian to join. We never pretend to have all the answers because life and faith are a journey, and we’re all doing our best to figure it out.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
