The session will explore ways to maximize skills, interests and values to align with career goals.<\/p>\n<p>Science and engineering students generally complete&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.proofpoint.com\/v2\/url?u=http-3A__myidp.sciencecareers.org_&amp;d=DwMFaQ&amp;c=dWz0sRZOjEnYSN4E4J0dug&amp;r=cOdfvqfJeyB-N6kLcC7xXg&amp;m=7T049H_Oy2BGbw8PuYi6OowWllFHzFIhXvOpFbumt_s&amp;s=0myXmhf0FwSM_fzJ1qWIhyzqaoyfhGjGRevep5LUbpA&amp;e=\">myIDP<\/a>, and we recommend you familiarize yourself with that platform. There are several&nbsp;IDP&nbsp;models, and many students complete more than one&nbsp;IDP&nbsp;platform, so choose one (or more) that best suits your program and goals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/myidp.sciencecareers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">myIDP<\/a> is the most commonly used version that focuses generally on science, technology, and engineering fields<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/chemidp.acs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ChemIDP<\/a> from the American Chemical Society is best for chemistry researchers<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.proofpoint.com\/v2\/url?u=http-3A__www.imaginephd.com_&amp;d=DwMFaQ&amp;c=dWz0sRZOjEnYSN4E4J0dug&amp;r=cOdfvqfJeyB-N6kLcC7xXg&amp;m=7T049H_Oy2BGbw8PuYi6OowWllFHzFIhXvOpFbumt_s&amp;s=xWZ30in4Bnjy6GVRIPVta7Qa1fBOqmrVjMpVI4cGyHM&amp;e=\">imaginephd.com<\/a> was created for social sciences and humanities and for scientists or chemists interested in policy, advocacy or careers adjacent to their field of study, but it has been found that a sizable percentage of the users are in STEM fields.<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/science\/graduate\/idp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shorter IDP<\/a>, targeted to physics, earth sciences, and other STEM disciplines from Purdue University<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/grad.wisc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/329\/2017\/11\/New_UW_IDPform-FINAL-fillable.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DiscoverPD<\/a> from University of Wisconsin, Madison<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create an&nbsp;IDP&nbsp;account, input your relevant information&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Take the 3 self-assessments \u2013 skills, interests, and values<br \/>\n(Note: ChemIDP has skills and interests only.
