In generating a unique and \u201cindividualized\u201d professional development plan, you will take into account your strengths, interests, and values, while considering what qualifications and skills are necessary for success in your chosen career. Developing effective time management skills is essential to career success, whether you\u2019re in graduate school or in a professional work environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In this presentation, Badre will discuss strategies for managing the multiple, often hard, tasks that are part of a career in STEM. He will introduce cognitive neuroscience research on a function called <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-021-00606-x\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cognitive control<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which refers to the mechanisms by which the brain connects our goals and plans to our actions.
