Lord Seminar on the Environment<\/a> in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/neswonline.com\/\">New England Science Writers<\/a> exploring how shifting temperatures affect marine ecosystems from New England to the poles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speakers at the public seminar discussed the implications of warming oceans for organisms from phytoplankton to commercially important fish and shellfish, as well as our livelihoods and economy. See the agenda below.<\/p>\n<p>Journalists received story ideas, new contacts, and opportunities to network with regional scientists studying climate change.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cl-button   prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=L_-al-AOLBs&amp;list=PLXyNA9d9siQyXyyQrId5oulPEVnRZ65gw\" title=\"\">Watch the Videos<\/a> <a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/metcalf\/seachange-agenda\/\" title=\"\">View Agenda<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mceNonEditable cl-button-noneditable\">Metcalf Institute established the Peter B. Lord Seminars on the Environment to honor the late Peter Lord\u2019s outstanding contributions to environmental journalism. Lord was the environment reporter at The Providence Journal for thirty years and served as Journalism Co-Director for Metcalf Institute since its founding in 1997 until his death in April 2012.
