The Metcalf Ocean Nexus Academy (MONA) is a new fellowship program for journalists created by Ocean Nexus<\/a> and Metcalf Institute<\/a>, in collaboration with the Uproot Projec<\/a>t. This exciting new partnership seeks to advance transformative changes at the nexus of ocean and social justice. Participating journalists, working closely with Ocean Nexus scholars, will deepen their understanding of how our relationships with the oceans are intertwined with systemic inequities, marginalization and discrimination, and exploitation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate Ready Newsrooms Fellowship<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Climate Ready Newsrooms Fellowship (formerly known as Climate and Environmental Science Fellowship for Local Journalism) is a groundbreaking initiative that focuses on local newsrooms \u2014 <\/span>not individuals in newsrooms<\/span><\/i> \u2014 and their specific challenges in reporting on climate and environment science issues for their communities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Annual Science Immersion Workshop is a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience that gives journalists opportunities to explore and understand the impacts of global change in coastal ecosystems at the University of Rhode Island\u2019s Graduate School of Oceanography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science Seminars for Journalists<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Metcalf\u2019s Science Seminars for Journalists bring experts in climate change, coastal pollution, environmental disasters, and other pressing environmental issues to journalists where they work and gather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter B. Lord Seminars on the Environment<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Peter B. Lord Seminars for southern New England offer expert and timely information, context and contacts for journalists critically important environmental issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training Programs at Journalism Conferences<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Metcalf Institute works with partner organizations to develop specialized panels and seminars on environmental science and policy at professional conferences for journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environmental Reporting Fellowships<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
