Graduate Audition Requirements<\/h2>\n

Applicants should prepare melody and 2-3 choruses of improvisation. Melody and harmony should be memorized.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. 32 bar bebop tune (ex. Anthropology, Ornithology, Moose The Mooche, Confirmation, Donna Lee, Cherokee)<\/li>\n
  2. Ballad (ex. Body and Soul, Darn That Dream, Polka Dots and Moonbeams, Soul Eyes)<\/li>\n
  3. Blues (ex. Billie\u2019s Bounce, Tenor Madness, Sandu, Isotope)<\/li>\n
  4. Perform diatonic major triads in all keys, quarter note equals 90 bpm.<\/li>\n
  5. Sight read one big band chart or solo transcription (to be determined)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
