{"id":3791,"date":"2021-12-09T11:31:54","date_gmt":"2021-12-09T16:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newram\/?page_id=3791"},"modified":"2026-04-02T15:22:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T19:22:37","slug":"talent-development-checklist","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newram\/checklists\/talent-development-checklist\/","title":{"rendered":"Talent Development Checklist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading fullwidth\">Accepted Talent Development Scholars <\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \">In addition to these steps below, Talent Development (TD) Scholars must follow the steps on the first-year checklist to set up their accounts, take the math placement exam, complete their advising form, apply for housing and meal plans, etc. <strong>Please monitor your email and refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newram\/checklists\/first-year-checklist\/\">First-Year New Student Checklist<\/a> for additional items.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-tabs-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-tabs  \">\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Attend <br>\nTD PREP<\/h1>\n\n<p><strong>March 14, 2026<\/strong>: <strong>Attendance is mandatory.<\/strong><br>PREP is designed to prepare accepted TD Scholars for a successful transition to the University of Rhode Island. <strong>Each Scholar must attend and stay for the duration of the event.<\/strong> Should you be unable to attend due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance, please contact our main office. <em>Information related to PREP will be sent via email to applicants who have been accepted to URI through TD<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the <strong>Intent to Enroll Form<\/strong> and <strong>TD Grant Eligibility Contract<\/strong>. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Following TD PREP, check your email for instructions on how to complete the <strong>Intent to Enroll Form<\/strong>. The form is due by <strong>May 1, 2026<\/strong>. TD Scholars are not required to submit an enrollment deposit. Once the Intent to Enroll Form is submitted, within a few days, TD will post the deposit on your behalf.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Register for<br \/>\nWelcome Day<\/h1>\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \">All accepted TD Scholars are strongly encouraged to attend one of the <strong>URI Welcome Days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading fullwidth\"><strong>Welcome Days for accepted students are<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Saturday, March 28<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Saturday, April 11<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sunday, April 19<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/newram\/welcome\/\">Registration is open!<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \">Welcome Days have been designed especially for admitted and committed students, families, and supporters to help you learn more about URI and begin your journey on the Rhode to Becoming a Ram. <strong>You\u2019ll be able to:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">Take walking tours around campus and experience the surrounding area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">Connect with current and other new students and their families.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">See residence halls and try our amazing food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">Commit to URI, celebrate your decision, and complete next steps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">Learn more about opportunities to participate in campus life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"fullwidth \">Meet faculty and staff who will support you inside and outside of the classroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Register for<br \/>\nSummer Orientation<\/h1>\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \">Register for Orientation after committing to URI and at least one week before your chosen Orientation date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth \"><strong>All new TD Scholars are required to attend both days of URI Orientation<\/strong>, where you will meet other new students, finalize your course schedule, get your ID, and learn more about campus. Family\/Supporter Orientation will also be available during the student time slots. Successful completion of this program is required to be fully admitted in the fall semester.
