(Level 1) PSY478 Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation Course
I am from Long Island, New York. I will be graduating in May of 2018. I am working toward a major in Communication Studies, as well as minors in Italian and Thanatology (the study of death, dying, and bereavement). I was lucky enough to take PSY 478, Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation Training, and earn a level 1 certification in Kingian Nonviolence. I was also given the opportunity to assist in training others and pass on the knowledge I learned from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life experiences. Through this experience I’ve achieved skills in conflict resolution that I am able to apply to my own personal conflicts and even to larger scale conflicts. Nonviolence is a way of life, and it is also a mindset that aims to reach win-win situations for all parties involved in conflict/violence. I believe a nonviolent lifestyle is the only way to achieve inner peace and peace for others!
