(3-Day Introductory Core Training)
I am a veterinarian at the West Greenwich Animal Hospital. I am married to Mark Stolt, a professor and soil scientist in the Natural Resources Department at URI. We have two kids, eight and fourteen years old. I was driving to my then six-year-old’s classroom for a class play when the shootings in Newtown, CT occurred. I drove away from my son’s classroom disbelieving that a shooting of that magnitude could take place so close to home. Since then, I have been advocating for gun safety as well as educating myself about gun violence in the US. I am the Faith Outreach leader for the RI chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. I am also a member of the Peace & Justice Committee at Christ the King Church and attend a Tuesday morning peace group that meets at the local nearby Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Besides my kids and my husband, my other favorite things are my big Belgian draft horse, Gordy, and my good yellow dog, Freya.
