Would you like to join a team of nonviolence trainers from URI and visit a foreign country as part\u00a0of an international nonviolence education project? Then an Interdisciplinary Minor in Nonviolence &amp; Peace Studies is the program for you! URI students may declare a Minor in Nonviolence &amp;\u00a0Peace Studies by completing the one-page <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1132\/Minor-form.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1132\/Minor-form.pdf\">Declaration of\u00a0Minor<\/a><\/strong> and taking 18 credits of courses related to nonviolence &amp; peace studies. This form\u00a0is available from your academic Dean&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foundations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;NVP200 &#8211; Introduction Nonviolence &amp;&nbsp;Peace Studies Colloquium.<\/strong>&nbsp;(1 credit) This course gives an&nbsp;overview of work in this field, with emphasis on work by members of the URI community, and provides a&nbsp;common experience for students in the Minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>PSY478 &#8211; Special Topics: Nonviolent Conflict Resolution&nbsp;<\/b>(3 credits) This course is an intensive study of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.&#8217;s nonviolent philosophy, principles, and steps presented in an interactive workshop model.
