She has dedicated her life to fighting for women\u2019s rights and democracy in Southeast Asia. Sochua served as a Member of Parliament and the first Minister of Women and Veterans\u2019 Affairs of Cambodia. She received a Leadership Award from the Vital Voices Foundation and was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.
