Being a BOI (Born on the Island) native of Galveston, Texas, I am a fan \u00a0of salt water, sun and sand between my toes. My life&#8217;s work has been in the field of\u00a0 community mental health where I worked for almost 40 years but I continue to\u00a0 volunteer with NAMI, transitioning military veterans and assisting first responders\u00a0 following critical incidents. Since earning my Level I certification last year, I have co facilitated teaching the Nonviolence &amp; Peace curriculum to incarcerated veterans in \u00a0the Galveston County Jail &#8211; one of the most rewarding projects of my life!
