Lauren has made it her mission to make the world a more compassionate place for individuals grieving the illness or death of a loved one, and communities experiencing collective grief.<\/p>\n<p>Through the use of movement, technology, art, and education, she is working to bridge what she perceives to&nbsp;be a \u201cGlobal Grief Gap.\u201d While at URI, she has served as a peer support group facilitator at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.friendsway.org\/\">Friends Way<\/a>, founded a chapter of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.studentsofamf.org\/\">Students of AMF<\/a>&nbsp;at URI, launched a small&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.griefreliefyoga.com\/\">social enterprise<\/a>&nbsp;and co-created the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Posts4Peace\">Posts4Peace<\/a>&nbsp;initiative with fellow trainees. Through her own exploration of creating peace of mind, Lauren is developing the skills necessary to be a peaceful promoter of health, mental wellness, nonviolence, and social justice.<\/p>\n<p>Her dream is to build an international corps of trained grief facilitators who can bring cutting edge research and tools back to their community in a culturally relevant and respectful way so that nobody is left feeling unsupported in the wake of illness, loss, trauma, or violence.&nbsp;Kingian nonviolence is a critical component of such an endeavor.
