The Center combines leading technology with a rigorous experiential learning curriculum, placing Rhode Island at the forefront of the nation in nursing education.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nursing\/rhode-island-nursing-education-center\/\" title=\"\">Step Inside<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p><\/article><\/div><\/section><section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-panel-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-panel  \"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/963\/research-2-650x350.jpg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><article><h1>Groundbreaking Research<\/h1><p>Professor Judith Mercer discovered that by delaying umbilical cord clamping for just a few seconds, we could reduce the risk of disease and disability among very low-birthweight babies. Now, with a grant from the National Institutes of Health, she\u2019s testing her theory on full-term babies, and changing delivery-room practices everywhere. URI\u2019s College of Nursing is perfectly positioned to help on both fronts.
