The Future Education Model Graduate Program is committed to providing the opportunity for the practical application of theoretical knowledge in the area of dietetic practice and to training students to become competent Registered Dietitian Nutritionists with demonstrated skills in community and population health, as well as clinical nutrition and foodservice management. The program provides a broad base of opportunities for learning by utilizing a variety of healthcare facilities and providing diverse didactic programs valuing and promoting an inclusive educational environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals-364x243.jpg 364w, https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/726\/gdfem-snaped-goals-500x334.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goals and Objectives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduates will be competent entry-level dietetic professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduates will have the skills to practice self-management of lifelong learning needs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACEND Required Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 80% of program graduates complete degree requirements within 3 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of graduates who seek employment, 80% are employed in nutrition and dietetic or related fields within 12 months of graduation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>80% of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The program\u2019s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over a five-year period, 80% of employers will rate graduates as \u201csimilar to other graduates\u201d to \u201cstronger than other graduates\u201d on relevant preparation\/performance items on the Employer Survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Program Specific Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 80% of graduates will rate their overall competence as \u201cadequate\u201d to \u201cabove adequate\u201d on a postgraduate survey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 80% of graduates will rate their knowledge and skills in community and population health as \u201cadequate\u201d to \u201cabove adequate\u201d on a postgraduate survey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 80% of graduates will rate their participation in self-management as \u201caverage\u201d to \u201cabove average\u201d on a postgraduate survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Program outcome data for the FG program are not available but outcome data for the previous combined Master of Science and Dietetic Internship are available upon request.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate Dietetics Future Education Model Mission and Goals Mission Statement The University of Rhode Island Dietetics Future Education Model Graduate Program represents the successful integration of The University of Rhode Island and the healthcare-related facilities in the state.
