CLASSICS OF AVIATION LITERATURE<\/strong> with Stephen Berardo<\/em>
\nWed, July 7, 14, 21, 9:30 AM – 11:00 $35.00<\/p>\n

Join other OLLI members in discussion of the history and growth of the aviation industry. We will review the early history and growth of aviation literature. All of the authors were pilots themselves, describing first-hand the dangers, the cost in lives, and the achievements that ultimately led to the airline industry that we know today. We will explore women authors such as Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Beryl Markham, and Amelia Earhart, as well as St. Exupery, Ernie Gann and Charles Lindbergh. Learn about the authors and the state of aviation technology and the airline industry at the time.<\/p>\n

Suggested for the first class: Read provided excerpts from: Wind, Sand and Stars<\/em> and North to the Orient<\/em>.<\/p>\n

IMPROVISATION\u2014THE POWER OF PLAY<\/strong> with Madeline England
\nMondays, July 12, 19, 26, Aug 2, 16, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM $45.00<\/p>\n

This course, created by Rhode Island\u2019s own Contemporary Theater Company, teaches the basics of improvisational and collaborative storytelling, while allowing participants to explore the power of playfulness, laughter, and confidence through fun and approachable games and exercises\u2014all tailored to be not memory based, allowing for an inclusive environment for all, including those with cognitive differences. If you want to explore something new in a safe and judgment-free zone, this class invites anyone who is excited about improv to jump in. No experience required. MAX: 30<\/p>\n
