On October 22, the town is hosting Scarecrows for South Kingstown at Saugatucket Park on High Street in Wakefield. Scarecrows are being built by local nonprofits and community organizations, including OLLI<\/span>. We have gathered a small group of creative scarecrow builders from OLLI<\/span>, including Charlotte Backer, Sandi Rosen and Sandra Enos. Thanks to everyone who has offered their help and suggestions. Please come and visit our scarecrow from 1:00PM – 4:00PM and vote for us. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube. <\/p>\n Mstyslav Chernov is a Pulitzer Prize-winning video journalist at The Associated Press and president of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers. His courageous reporting in Mariupol earned the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and became the basis of his award-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol. Drawing from over a decade-long career covering major conflicts, social issues, and environmental crises across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Chernov will discuss his experience documenting the initial days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the role of journalism during wartime, and his transition to feature filmmaking.
