CAUTION – Due to URI construction there is a new temporary sidewalk from Flagg Road that leads to the OLLI building #210. From Flagg Rd – Take a right at the OLLI sign, follow the temporary sidewalk to the old sidewalk which leads to the front door of the OLLI building <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FREE OSHER ONLINE COMMUNITY EVENT-<\/strong> Today, Monday, July 13, at 5:00PM on ZOOM. Beyond the Pitch: Stories from the 2026 FIFA World Cup <\/strong>with Anders Kelto, a Peabody Award-winning journalist based in Los Angeles and former professional soccer player and coach, and ran soccer camps in his hometown of Traverse City, Michigan for more than twenty years. The FIFA World Cup is more than the world’s largest sporting event. It is a global gathering that brings together people, cultures, and traditions from every corner of the world. CLASS SPOTLIGHT-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Curiosity to Climate: Teaching Science Through Children’s TV – <\/strong>1 session with Sara Sweetman July 23, 10-11:30AM <\/strong>Children\u2019s television and streaming media have become powerful ways to introduce young audiences to science. This session explores how complex topics\u2014such as climate science\u2014are transformed into engaging, age appropriate stories for children ages 4\u20138. Drawing on the development of the PBS series Elinor Wonders Why<\/em> and the newly released Weather Hunters<\/em>, participants will learn how educational goals, research partnerships, and studies with children shape each episode. The session highlights how storytelling and animation bring concepts of climate, weather systems, and the natural world to life, and how media can spark curiosity and support early science learning to come. <\/strong>Click Here to Register<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
