Concurrent Enrollment Program at the University of Rhode Island is designed for motivated students, typically juniors and seniors, who seek to get a head start on college credit and who are looking to be challenged academically while in high school.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout right  \"><p>Are you a high school teacher interested in teaching an approved URI concurrent course?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<p><\/p>\n<a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/osi\/programs\/concurrent-enrollment\/teacher-approval-process\/\" title=\"\">Teacher Approval Process<\/a>\n<p><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400\">PrepareRI covers the cost for public high school students to enroll in concurrent courses at their high school during the Fall and Spring terms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Concurrent courses offered at private schools, out-of-state, and homeschool settings are not covered under this state-funded program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-panel-wrapper\"><div institution.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Programs may offer opportunities to visit the URI campus and experience university academic facilities firsthand.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Flexible, Accessible, and Supportive<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Earn college credit by <\/span>successfully completing the course<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, as opposed to passing a single high-stakes exam.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coursework emphasizes consistent learning and mastery throughout the semester.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stay close to home \u2014 no need to travel to the URI campus in Kingston.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Continue learning from teachers you already know and trust, as your high school instructor also serves as your university-affiliated concurrent enrollment instructor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2><b>Student Eligibility<\/b><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"244\">To earn URI credit, students should have at least a <strong data-start=\"218\" data-end=\"241\">3.0 high school GPA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"546\">Freshmen or sophomores can enroll for URI credit if their high school guidance counselor or instructor provides a letter confirming strong academic performance (generally shown by a 3.0 GPA or higher).
