The Parking and Transportation Advisory Subcommittee (PTAS) is a standing sub-committee of the Master Plan Review Team (MPRT). The activities and responsibilities of this committee are two-fold: One is to advise the Vice President for Administration and Finance and the other is to advise the MPRT.
The committee shall be comprised of seven voting members as follows: one faculty member, one graduate student and one undergraduate student, two staff members, (one of whom shall be the Director of Disability Services), the Assistant Director of Lands and Grounds, and the Assistant Director of Campus Planning and Design. The Director of Public Safety shall serve as chairperson. The Manager of Parking Services and a University Police Officer shall serve as ex-officio members. The committee shall meet bi-monthly.
The committee will be charged with formulating policy, facilitating communications with all segments of the campus community, and representing valid concerns of the campus community. The committee shall make recommendations regarding parking permit fees and fines as required to reconcile with Parking Service’s business plan and shall advise the MPRT regarding all aspects of the campus parking and transportation system.
The committee will also advise the MPRT on issues that represent potential impacts to Parking Services and parking facilities. These would include but not be limited to ADA parking issues, parking system/traffic demand management issues, university/public transit interface issues and would also serve as the MPRT liaison to campus and community constituents regarding parking issues.
Day to day problems and complaints based upon existing conditions and regulations will continue to be the responsibility of the Manager of Parking and Transportation Services. A subsection of this committee shall serve as the appeal venue for decisions made by the Manager of Parking and Transportation Services as to fees and fines.
