{"id":736,"date":"2026-09-08T14:59:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T18:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/pbl\/?page_id=736"},"modified":"2026-09-24T11:59:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T15:59:15","slug":"outreach","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/pbl\/outreach\/","title":{"rendered":"Outreach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Life<\/strong><strong>Edu.org: Advancing Biotechnology Literacy Since 2001<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Visionary:<\/strong> <strong>Life<\/strong>Edu.org is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational foundation founded in 2001 by Dr. Albert Kausch and a distinguished group of scientists, educators, bioethicists, and biotechnology industry leaders to improve public understanding of DNA, genetics, genomics, and modern biotechnology<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Addressing the widening gap<\/strong> between rapidly advancing biotechnology and the public understanding of life, genetics, genomics, biotechnology, and related the ethical issues<strong> Life<\/strong>Edu.org<strong> <\/strong>makes educational materials with a<strong> <\/strong><strong>Teacher-centered approach<\/strong> of &#8220;teaching teachers how to teach biotechnology&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Life<\/strong><strong>Edu.org was founded in response to the growing need<\/strong> for public education in genetics and biotechnology. Bringing together experts from universities, industry, and education, the organization developed innovative educational materials and outreach programs to help bridge the gap between scientific advances and public understanding.
