In addition to the panelists we have interviews with lots of other alumni along with other career exploration resources.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cl-tiles thirds\">\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/corereadiness.com\/learning-center\/course\/P65915483\/CO81302799\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1223\/rx21k-1.png\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"rx21k\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><p>After earning her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degrees from The University of Rhode Island in 2017, Kaley pursued a two-year Post-Doctoral Medical Affairs Fellowship at Acorda Therapeutics in conjunction with Rutgers University.  Through Rutgers, she also served as an adjunct faculty member and became chief fellow.  She then transitioned to a role as Manager of Medical Information and Education at Daiichi Sankyo in May of 2019, and was recently promoted to Lead Manager, Scientific Information in December of 2020.  At Daiichi, she works primarily as a lead medical promotional reviewer in oncology with a current focus in breast, gastric and non-small cell lung cancer.  She is also an enthusiastic preceptor to PharmD fellows. <\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container button\">Meet<\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/corereadiness.com\/learning-center\/course\/P65915483\/CO81302799\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1223\/rx21c-1.png\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"rx21c\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><p>Chris Federico \u201910 graduated from the URI College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After graduation, Chris pursued a career as a clinical pharmacist at Coastal Medical Inc, performing disease state and MTM for patients with diabetes and chronic conditions. During his time at Coastal, Chris engaged in public health efforts, including outpatient antimicrobial stewardship, while serving as a preceptor for APPE students, PGY1 Pharmacy Residents and provided pharmacotherapy lectures for JWU and Bryant University Physician Assistant programs. He is currently a Renal-Cardio Medical Science Liaison at AstraZeneca, providing scientific support to medical providers and research institutes with interests in kidney disease, heart failure and emergency medicine. He also maintains per-diem status at RI Hospital.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container button\">Meet<\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/corereadiness.com\/learning-center\/course\/P65915483\/CO81302799\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1223\/rx21e.png\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"rx21e\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><p>Elaina Lorefice graduated from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy in 2019. After graduating from URI, Elaina made the move from Long Island, New York to New York City in order to pursue a career in veterinary compounding pharmacy. Elaina\u2019s favorite parts of her job are learning new things every day, compounding medication, and working collaboratively with her colleagues and veterinarians. Elaina is grateful for having attended URI for pharmacy school because it opened her mind to the different career paths available for pharmacists, which helped her end up where she is today. He also practices ambulatory care pharmacy at his clinical practice site at a primary care clinic within the Henry Ford Health system where he helps optimize medications for patients with diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, and heart failure. He is a 2018 graduate of the University of Rhode Island and completed post-graduate residencies at the Albuquerque Indian Health Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Aurora, Colorado. His professional interests include population health, chronic disease management in underserved populations, and the expansion of clinical pharmacy services. He is involved in many local and national pharmacy organizations including Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society, the National Lipid Association, the Michigan Society of Health Systems Pharmacists, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. <\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container button\">Meet<\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/corereadiness.com\/learning-center\/course\/P65915483\/CO81302799\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1223\/rx21h-1.png\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"rx21h\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><p>Hannah Ritchie is currently a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at Baystate Medical Center (2020-2021). She graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island in May 2020. She came to URI from Santa Clarita, California because she loved the learning atmosphere and the wide variety of experiences offered within and outside the College of Pharmacy. Hannah is interested in Critical Care and Academia. She has early committed to complete her PGY2 Residency in Critical Care at Baystate Medical Center from 2021-2022. Hannah is looking forward to a career full of compassion, teamwork, and learning. Hannah absolutely loves being a resident and cannot wait to fully transition into her career. She works at an independent community pharmacy, Green Line Apothecary, and Newport Hospital. She has been an integral component of the vaccination efforts in Rhode Island and is currently conducting a literature review in pediatric gluten-free medications. Katelyn also works as an organic chemistry tutor and has been the Head Tour Guide for the College of Pharmacy for the last two years. Her involvement in different pharmacy organizations includes American Pharmacists Association, Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Rhode Island Pharmacist Association. He then completed a PGY1 residency at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT and went on to complete a PGY2 residency in ambulatory care at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford CT. Upon completion of residency, he joined the ambulatory care pharmacy team at Boston Medical Center. He is a clinical pharmacy specialist embedded within a primary care clinic with over 100 providers servicing around 40,000 patients. He primarily manages patients with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, smoking cessation and medication management. Anthony is able to practice with a great deal of autonomy. He works under a scope of practice agreement with the MD\u2019s allowing me to independently prescribe medications and order labs relating to those designated disease states.<\/p>\n<h3>Rebecca Austria, PharmD, &#8217;12<br \/>\nTraveling Pharmacist, Samuel Simmons Memorial Hospital<\/h3>\n<p>Rebecca Austria is a traveling pharmacist specializing in rural healthcare. She is originally from Massachusetts, and graduated from URI in 2012. She states she wouldn\u2019t be where she is today without the URI College of Pharmacy. URI gave her the opportunity to complete a rotation in Dillingham, Alaska in 2011. After that experience, she knew she wanted to be a rural traveler after graduation. Since then, she has worked in northern Maine; Anchorage, Alaska; rural Alaska; and Antarctica. The highlight of her career, so far, was being a pharmacist at McMurdo Station, Antarctica and having the opportunity to travel to the South Pole!<\/p>\n<h3>Jill Powers, RPh, &#8217;89<br \/>\nConsultant Pharmacist, Pharmerica<\/h3>\n<p>Jill Powers, RPh has been a consultant pharmacist with Pharmerica based in Warwick, RI for the past 26 years. She graduated from URI in December 1989 and in her early years worked at Miriam Hospital, as well as large chain and small independent pharmacies. She was a district manager of a national chain and has taught as an adjunct professor at URI and a CCRI.<\/p>\n<p>In her current role as a consultant pharmacist she has ten long term care\/rehab facilities that she visits on a monthly basis to perform medication reviews.<\/p>\n<h3>Matt Talbot, PharmD, \u201914<br \/>\nPresident and Pharmacy Owner, Aroostook Apothecary LLC<\/h3>\n<p>Matt Talbot graduated from URI in 2014. He is originally from Presque Isle, Maine and has set roots there with his family and business after enjoying many years in Rhode Island. His family has been in the pharmacy business for five generations and he joined his grandfather, Joseph Talbo \u201858, as a URI alumni. Continuing the tradition of owning his family\u2019s independent pharmacies was always his goal and the College of Pharmacy thoroughly prepared him to achieve that goal.<\/p>\n<h3>Kylie Fogarty, PharmD, \u201907<br \/>\nStaff Pharmacist, Green Line Apothecary<\/h3>\n<p>Kylie Fogarty is a community pharmacist with Green Line Apothecary in Wakefield, RI. She has been practicing community pharmacy for over over ten years at various organizations including Walgreens and Lifespan. In addition to management roles, she is a long time member and Past-President of the RI Pharmacists Association.<\/p>\n<h3>Erin Foeri (Moderator)<br \/>\nPharmD Class of 2021<\/h3>\n<p>Erin Foeri is a sixth year PharmD student at the University of Rhode Island. She currently works as a pharmacy intern at Green Line Apothecary, an independent pharmacy in Wakefield, Rhode Island and is on her clinical rotations as part of URI&#8217;s curriculum. Her interests outside of pharmacy include playing ukulele and violin, surfing, volleyball, and going to the beach.
