Paul Larrat, Ph.D., R.Ph.\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/pharmacy\/meet\/e-paul-larrat\/\">Dean Paul Larrat<\/a> and Elaina Goldstein, met with US Senators and Congressmen to discuss key pharmacy issues.\u00a0 The policy makers met were Senators Sheldon Whitehouse, Jack Reed and Scott Brown.\u00a0 The team also met with Congressman James Langevin\u2019s legislative aide.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-11392\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1223\/megan-300x252.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"273\" height=\"229\" \/>The advocacy event, better known as \u201cRxImpact Day\u201d, was hosted by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores\u2014the organization has been very proactive in ensuring the future of pharmacy practice.\u00a0 Other participants included major pharmacy chain executives, community pharmacists, and 15 other pharmacy schools.\u00a0 The University of Rhode Island is a forerunner of the event\u2014The College of Pharmacy was one of only two schools to attend the first RxImpact Day. The Dean, Ron Jordan, is also one of a select few awarded the title of RxImpact Pioneer for his involvement with the event.<br \/>\nThe students discussed issues that dealt with multiple aspects of pharmacy care and accessibility.
