Pharmacists can play a role in ensuring the safe use of opioids and preventing opioid overdose. Naloxone is an antidote for opioid overdose. A collaborative practice agreement that allows pharmacists to initiate naloxone therapy could prevent opioid overdose death. Participants should watch the video and then complete the post-test and program evaluation to earn continuing education credit. Explain the neurobiology of ADDICTION and the spectrum of opioid addiction;<br \/>\n2. Discuss OPIOID OVERDOSE and the epidemic on a state and national level;<br \/>\n3. Identify the role NALOXONE has in opioid overdose prevention;<br \/>\n4. Describe the contents of the Collaborative Practice Agreement;<br \/>\n5. List three ways to best EDUCATE PATIENTS &amp; CAREGIVERS on overdose management.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Registration<\/h3>\n<p>A $25 registration fee will be collected when the online participant takes the post-test. Credit cards and electronic checks are accepted.
