\nWHAT: There will also be a special announcement about URI\u2019s Making a Difference Capital Campaign during URI\u2019s celebration of the fourth annual Distinguished Achievement Awards. The awards recognize the accomplishments of four alumni: Patricia Miller Anton \u201979 (music) of Henderson, Nev., James Diller \u201957 (physics) of Portola Valley, Calif., Edward M. Rudnic \u201978, M.S. \u201982, Ph.D. \u201983 (pharmacy) of Potomac, Md. and Richard Kerr \u201977 Ph.D. (oceanography) of Bethesda, Md. As well as 26 alumni and friends named to each college\u2019s Dean\u2019s Lists.
\nWHEN: Saturday evening, Oct. 17. Dinner and the awards ceremony will begin at 7:45 p.m. The campaign update is expected to be announced between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m.
