The students were able to work hands-on with the athletes in the pt-specific area, FUNfitness, and cheered on athletes from all ages throughout the various sporting events over the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail@2x\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/physical-therapy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1279\/unnamed-3-2-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7109\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/physical-therapy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1279\/unnamed-3-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/physical-therapy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1279\/unnamed-3-2-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption>Jillian Fitting, Paris Ellman, Apryll Pazienza, Brianna DeRobbio<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Paris Ellman was inspired to participate as a volunteer for the Summer Games during a part time clinical experience where a patient discussed her excitement about the games during one of their interactions. At the event, that same patient walked by the FUNfitness tent, and Paris recognized the patient immediately. Paris stated \u201cI told her she was the reason I was there volunteering because I saw how much this event meant to her.
