{"id":7401,"date":"2025-10-02T12:10:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T16:10:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/physical-therapy\/?p=7401"},"modified":"2025-10-02T16:33:49","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T20:33:49","slug":"uri-dpt-students-and-faculty-support-ri-apdas-optimism-walk-and-5k-fun-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/physical-therapy\/uri-dpt-students-and-faculty-support-ri-apdas-optimism-walk-and-5k-fun-run\/","title":{"rendered":"URI DPT Students and Faculty Support RI APDA\u2019s Optimism Walk and 5K Fun Run"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, September 27th, students from the University of Rhode Island\u2019s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program joined forces with faculty to support the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Parkinson\u2019s Disease Association (RI APDA) during their annual Optimism Walk and 5K Fun Run at Warwick City Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, second, and third-year DPT students collaborated with Dr. Christine Clarkin, professor of physical therapy, and Dr. Ken Vinacco, adjunct professor and URI DPT alum, to help organize and manage the event. Students assisted with event setup and oversaw the 5K Fun Run, which welcomed nearly 50 participants.
