The Annual Crime Statistics and Fire Safety Report is prepared in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by The University of Rhode Island; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the five URI campuses (Kingston, Providence, Rhode Island Nursing Education Center, Narragansett Bay, and Alton Jones).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This report also includes institutional policies concerning many aspects of campus safety, including but not limited to, sexual assault, alcohol and drug abuse, timely warnings, missing student procedures, as well as information on how and where to report a crime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Campus Security Authorities (CSAS)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A Campus Security Authorities or CSAs are individuals with significant responsibility for campus and student activities, such as campus police\/security, resident assistants, coaches, and club advisors, among others. CSAs provide a critical link to getting campus community members the information and support they need when a crime has occurred. Please review our training video yearly to familiarize yourself with your responsibilities as a CSA and reach out to shawn_miner@uri.edu<\/a> to sign up<\/s> for an in-person training or discussion.  CSAs must report all crimes to campus police when they become aware of them by dialing the URI non-emergency number at 401-874-4910. CSAs can also report crimes here. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CSAs should refresh their knowledge of their duties and responsibilities on an annual basis. Training is hosted via Brightspace as well as in-person or by request.  Instructions for accessing the Brightspace training site can be found here. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
