{"id":1548,"date":"2025-08-07T13:32:01","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T17:32:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/police\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2025-08-07T13:52:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T17:52:44","slug":"accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/police\/accreditation\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Invited to Participate in URI Police Department Accreditation Review"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A team of Assessors from the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC) will arrive at the University of Rhode Island Police Department on <strong>August 13, 2025<\/strong>, at <strong>85 Briar Lane<\/strong>, Kingston RI to examine all aspects of the agency\u2019s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verification by the assessment team that the University of Rhode Island Police Department meets the Commission\u2019s standards is part of a voluntary process by which this agency seeks recognition of professional excellence in law enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments to the assessment team by telephone. The public is invited to contact the Assessment Team at<strong> 401-874-2134<\/strong> on <strong>August 13, 2025<\/strong>, between the hours of <strong>1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency\u2019s ability to comply with RIPAC standards. A Copy of the RIPAC Standards is available for review at the University of Rhode Island Police Department.
