Administrative policies are developed by members of the University community as well as the University\u2019s leadership to address operational matters, compliance, university infrastructure (including IT and physical plant) and other business concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To increase community engagement in the policy development process, draft Administrative Policies (both new and revised) are available for community input for a period of 12-14 days prior to their review by the Administrative Policy Committee. We welcome feedback from students, staff, and faculty across the University. Announcements regarding draft policies available for community comment are issued in RhodyToday, and community members may request email notifications by contacting csbarker@uri.edu<\/a>. If draft policies are presently available for community comment, they will appear below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Draft Policy on Payment Card Data Protection:<\/strong> The purpose of this new policy is to ensure that all University units handling payment card transactions comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to protect cardholder data, reduce the risk of data breaches, and maintain the University\u2019s ability to securely accept payment cards. This draft revised policy was previously reviewed by a panel of University stakeholders and is posted for community comment through November 3, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Draft Policy on Nondiscrimination and Retaliation:<\/strong> The purpose of this revised policy is to eliminate, prevent, and address conduct that constitutes prohibited discrimination or retaliation at the University. This policy describes the prohibited conduct, sets standards by which the University will manage allegations, and defines roles and responsibilities for all parties involved. This draft revised policy was previously reviewed by a panel of University stakeholders and is posted for community comment through November 17, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
