Pre-Health Career Pathways is proud to partner with health professional programs in Rhode Island that provide URI students with a competitive advantage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to be nominated for them, we ask students to participate in a specific version of the PATH process<\/a>, outlined below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown Early Identification Program (BEIP) PATH Process:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In October of each year, eligible students will need to complete their Handshake profile and an applicant readiness form: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, students will need to request three (3) letters of recommendation and have them sent directly to our office through our website, below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least two (2) of these letters need to be submitted by faculty members at the University of Rhode Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mid-late fall semester, HPAC conducts a careful evaluation of each student\u2019s academic and personal qualifications, including a personal interview. Based on the criteria noted in the box to the right, the Committee nominates students for the program and forwards a complete application and a letter of evaluation for each nominee to the Brown-Alpert Admissions Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only students recommended by the URI Health Professions Advisory Committee are eligible to apply to the URI-Brown Early Identification Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following review of the application, the Admission Committee invites its most highly rated applicants (those who show exceptional promise for medical school and who are a good fit for the program) for an interview at Brown. Following interviews, the Admission Committee informs candidates of its decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JWU PA Program PATH Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In February, students are asked to attend our information session via Zoom with the Director of Admissions from JWU’s PA program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After attending, students that meet the minimum qualifications will complete the PATH steps before May 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
