The Office of the Provost at the University of Rhode Island is pleased to introduce a new faculty cluster
hiring initiative. The development of this new initiative occurred in collaboration with faculty from
the Academic Summit planning committee and the Faculty Senate Executive committee. Interested
faculty submitted proposals for specific cluster areas of research and course development. Panels were formed to review the numerous submissions and eventually four clusters were selected. In the next two years, 12 faculty members will be hired into the four clusters. This website is designed to explain cluster policies and procedures, recognize those who contribute to the initiative, and commend cluster faculty achievements.
