Margaret Frost

Biography

Meg Frost joined the Political Science department in 2022. Meg’s subfields are Comparative Politics and International Relations. Her research and teaching interests include political and criminal violence, civil-military relations, human rights, and public opinion. Originally from South Kingstown, RI, Meg earned a BA and MA at the University of Rhode Island. She is currently finishing her PhD in Political Science from Vanderbilt University. Before returning to RI, she interned at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Switzerland, was a Fulbright Student Fellow in Colombia, and participated in a Human Rights Studies Graduate Program in Spain. A certified Level-III Nonviolence trainer from the URI Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, Meg frequently participates in URI’s International Summer Nonviolence Institute. She also enjoys boating, learning languages, boxing, and Latin and Spanish cooking.
