Biography

Dr. Prasasti Pandit is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rhode Island. She completed her Ph.D. in 2020 in the field of Ethics. In her research, she proposed a more credible form of the Principle of Beneficence in the domain of moral philosophy. Her research area also includes the moral value of emotion, virtue ethics, normative ethics, feminist ethics, and public health ethics. Her recent book ‘The Moral Quest for a More Credible Form of Beneficence: A Comparative Philosophical Analysis’ is published by Ethics International Press, Cambridge, UK. She has received State Research Fellowship (2011), National Junior Research Fellowship (2012), and the Young Woman Educator and Researcher Award (2015). She loves to discuss fascinating topics of Philosophy on multiple online teaching and social media platforms. Apart from teaching, she is also passionate about dance, recitation, creative writing, digital content creation, and short filmmaking. She also loves to travel and spend quality time with her family.
