The University uses an online system called Interfolio RPT for all faculty review, promotion, and tenure cases. Faculty members prepare electronic portfolios that provide an organized and clear summary of their accomplishments for a review period. Faculty also use Interfolio Faculty180 to create required forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Article 15 of the URI\/AAUP Collective Bargaining Agreement, faculty participate in one of two annual activities. Faculty who are scheduled for review, promotion, tenure consideration, or who request an off-cycle review submit a full dossier for evaluation in Interfolio RPT. Faculty who are not scheduled for review update their curriculum vitae in Faculty180. Full dossier reviews and annual curriculum vitae updates are due October 1 for tenure-track, tenured, clinical, and research faculty, and February 1 for Teaching Track faculty and Faculty of Practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promotion\/Review Cycle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By May 1 of each year, department chairs must provide the names of tenure-track, tenured, clinical, and research faculty scheduled for review, promotion, and\/or tenure consideration, as well as the names of those who have requested a review, to the department faculty and the College Dean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dean’s Office reviews these faculty and determines the appropriate review, promotion, and tenure cases in accordance with the AAUP Collective Bargaining Agreement and any applicable exceptions. The Office of the Provost then creates the corresponding cases in Interfolio. Once a case has been created, the candidate will receive an email notification from Interfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty dossiers are due October 1 for tenure-track, tenured, clinical, and research faculty. Teaching Track faculty and Faculty of Practice submit dossiers by February 1. See Article 15 of the AAUP Collective Bargaining Agreement<\/a> for additional details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
