{"id":2605,"date":"2018-11-07T16:18:02","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T21:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/health-studies-draft\/?p=2605"},"modified":"2019-01-14T16:19:05","modified_gmt":"2019-01-14T21:19:05","slug":"health-studies-alumni-return-to-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/public-health\/2018\/11\/07\/health-studies-alumni-return-to-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Studies alumni return to campus!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were very excited to welcome back nine Health Studies graduates to participate in our fall career event, a round table discussion,&nbsp;<strong>What to do After Graduation?!<\/strong>&nbsp; Nearly 80 majors attended the event that was held in the new URI Welcome Center from 6:15-8:00 PM on October 30.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The evening was filled with conversations between the URI graduates and undergraduates about making the most out of time at URI, including conducting faculty-mentored research and completing an internship, applying for jobs and graduate school, and being a graduate student.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A great big thank you&nbsp; to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pasco Cardillo \u201917,&nbsp;<\/strong>AIDS Care Ocean State \u2013 Early Intervention Services Case Manager and Rhode Island College \u2013 Intensive Case Management Onsite Supervisor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justyna Falat \u201918,&nbsp;<\/strong>Clinical Research Assistant atRhode Island Hospital-<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lauren Fiske, MSc. \u201917,&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Educator and Prevention Coordinator at Rhode Island School of Design<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer Gonsalves 16,<\/strong>Graduate student in public health (MPH program) at Brown University&nbsp;with an assistantship at URI working with the Narraganset Tribe<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex King \u201918,&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Graduate student in public health (MPH program) at Brown University and research assistant at Blue Cross Blue Shield<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessy Maganos \u201916,<\/strong>&nbsp;Occupational Therapy graduate student at New England Tech<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary&nbsp;Rosa&nbsp;\u201918,&nbsp;<\/strong>Graduate student in public health (MPH program) at Brown University<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Tierney MBA&nbsp; \u201917,&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Product Design Specialist at Collette Travel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heidi Weidele \u201917,&nbsp;<\/strong>Graduate student in public health (MPH program) at Brown University and research assistant at&nbsp;&nbsp;Rhode Island Dept of Health- Division of Infectious Disease<\/p>\n<p>In addition,&nbsp;thanks to&nbsp;<strong>Ms. Caitlin Broccoli<\/strong>&nbsp;from URI\u201ds Center for Career and Experiential Education for coming to talk about internships and resumes.
