The quest for compiled local-level health data for 2026 and beyond.\u201d In the panel, Dr. Cohen spoke about local-level data collection and compilation initiatives in Rhode Island, as well as the opportunities and many challenges in terms of those initiatives, given the current headwinds facing public health research and advocacy in the US.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other panelists were Dr. Alison Tovar of Brown University, Dr. Soumyadeep Mukherjee of Rhode Island College, and Ms. Jennifer Latham of the Rhode Island Department of Health and graduate student at URI. The panelists also discussed important issues in data availability and access. The discussion touched on the steps the Rhode Island Department of Health is currently undertaking to protect access to state data, as well as novel ways to engage local communities in data collection.
