Please note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Undergraduate students requesting taking a leave of absence from an academic program must do so through their academic dean\u2019s office. All requests for a leave of absence require Dean\u2019s Office approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your leave application may be for no longer than two semesters. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If leave is granted by your College, you can still maintain your student status and register for the semester in which you&nbsp;plan to return without applying for readmission. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For scholarship recipients, a leave of absence may result in loss of eligibility. To return to URI,&nbsp;you will need to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/registration-records\/readmission-to-a-degree-program\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/registration-records\/readmission-to-a-degree-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply for readmission<\/a>&nbsp;into a degree granting program through the appropriate academic Dean\u2019s Office, or<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/appcsprod.uri.edu:9516\/psc\/u_nonm_app\/EMPLOYEE\/SA\/c\/URI_ADMISSIONS_MENU.U_SAD_NONMATR_APP.GBL?&amp;\" target=\"_blank\"> register <\/a>for additional courses as a Non-Matriculating student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upon satisfactory completion of the withdrawal, including clearance of all financial obligations to the University, the effective date of withdrawal will be noted on your permanent academic record.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effective date is the date used for calculating financial aid, billing or refunds. No grades for the current semester will be recorded.&nbsp;See&nbsp;additional information regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/tuition-billing\/billing-adjustments-and-refunds\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/tuition-billing\/billing-adjustments-and-refunds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">billing adjustments\/refunds<\/a> as well as the impact on <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/financial-aid\/apply-for-aid\/withdrawal-and-dropped-classes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">financial aid<\/a>. <strong>Note:<\/strong> Accelerated, fully online students have until 11:59pm on Day 3 of a new session to drop a class for a 100% refund; after day 3 there is no refund.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon withdrawal after the last day of classes, but before a semester ends, you will be graded in all courses for which you are officially registered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon withdrawal after mid-semester, students who seek readmission for the next semester will be readmitted only with approval of the Scholastic Standing Committee for the college or school in which registration is desired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon withdrawal from the University after mid-semester, your grades will be recorded for any course that has an officially specified completion date prior to the date of your withdrawal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\"><a class=\"cl-button   prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.na3.adobesign.com\/public\/esignWidget?wid=CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhB1_VI3FvtrRrDwwLaKzmLs6BEXZ1rm_MvXnwwECEtTaEp0pEZk8G66xP3anmRUzf0*\" title=\"\">Request a withdrawal <\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-tabs-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-tabs  \">\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>GRADUATE STUDENTS<\/h1>\n\n<p>All graduate students who wish to take a leave of absence or officially withdraw from a graduate program and the University must do so through the Graduate School.
