{"id":43597,"date":"2025-07-11T14:05:47","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T18:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/research-admin\/?page_id=43597"},"modified":"2026-09-03T14:36:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T18:36:42","slug":"disclosure","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/research-admin\/integrity-security\/research-conduct\/coi\/disclosure\/","title":{"rendered":"Complete a Disclosure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who must&nbsp;disclose?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research at the URI \u2014 including principal investigators, project directors, consultants, graduate students, and others \u2014 who&nbsp;receives&nbsp;and \/ or&nbsp;proposes&nbsp;to receive funding from external sources.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What must Be&nbsp;disclosed?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Significant Financial Interests (SFIs) per the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/policies\/find\/?_sf_s=financial%20conflict%20interest%20research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Policy on Financial Conflicts of Interest in Research<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outside Activities per the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/policies\/find\/?_sf_s=conflict%20commitment%20research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Policy on Conflict of Commitment in Research<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When must disclosures occur?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before&nbsp;submitting&nbsp;an application for external funding&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annually during the term of the external funding&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within\u00a015 days\u00a0of following the date on which an SFI or Outside Activity arises or changes\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How are disclosures&nbsp;submitted?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disclosures are completed via the&nbsp;InfoEd&nbsp;system:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uri.infoedglobal.com\/EnableWeb\/Portal\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">InfoEd<\/a>&nbsp;(URI ID and password are&nbsp;required&nbsp;to log in).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the \u201cConflict of Interest and Commitment\u201d tab in the left toolbar.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on \u201cCreate\/Update Disclosure.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a disclosure form has been previously completed, select \u201cEdit\/Submit Disclosure\u201d to edit and&nbsp;submit&nbsp;the form.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a disclosure form has not been previously completed, select \u201cCreate Initial Disclosure\u201d to create&nbsp;an initial&nbsp;disclosure.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more detailed instructions see the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uri0.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/r\/sites\/DREDPolicyRevisions\/Shared%20Documents\/Website%20Documents\/ORI%20Conflict%20of%20Interest%20COI\/Quick%20Reference%20Guide%20for%20RCOIC%20Disclosure.pdf?d=w445f2f19179c47969f6ede527ef49667&amp;csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=TlMYMG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quick Reference Guide to Create and Submit an Annual Disclosure<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What about award subrecipients?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sponsor disclosure requirements pass down to award subrecipients.
