This is referred to as being \u201c<strong>engaged in the research<\/strong>\u201d and can include, but is not limited to, obtaining informed consent, interacting and \/ or intervening with human subjects, and handling identifiable private information or identifiable biological specimens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key personnel on human subjects research protocols must complete training before commencing research activities and every three (3) years thereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human subjects research training is provided via the <a href=\"https:\/\/about.citiprogram.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program<\/a>.
