Rhody Outpost is URI’s basic needs pantry for students experiencing food insecurity.\u00a0 The Outpost provides fresh and non-perishable food and personal care items at no charge to students. Formed as a collaboration between URI and St. Augustine\u2019s Episcopal Church in 2012, the pantry is managed by the Dean of Students Office and staffed by student and community volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have an Amazon wish list<\/a>!  Purchase items for the Outpost and have them sent directly to us at the Dining Services warehouse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who\u2019s Eligible?<\/h1>\n\n

We serve all URI students who are food and\/or housing insecure, and struggle to make ends meet. We are committed to protecting your privacy if you visit us or contact us for resources.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s Available?<\/h1>\n\n

The pantry is stocked with canned goods, pasta, pasta sauce, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, toiletries, household items, cleaning supplies, and much more. We also offer eggs, yogurt, milk, bread, bananas and fresh vegetables.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Where and When?<\/h1>\n\n

The Outpost is located at the Dining Services Warehouse, 10 Tootell Road, in Kingston.<\/a> We’re open for shopping on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5, or pickup only with mobile ordering on Thursdays from 9-2. General Rhody Outpost policies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. All students who are food insecure and wish to use the Outpost must complete an intake form<\/a> and be approved.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You may visit the Outpost up to 3 times\/month. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Please respect the signs posted with amount limits.  Take only what you need so that others may do the same.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The Outpost is not meant to be your sole source of food.  We encourage you to shop at value stores like Walmart and Aldi, and make use of other food assistance organizations around the area, such as the Jonnycake Center for Hope<\/a> in Peacedale and St. Peter’s Community Market in Narragansett. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
