The program highlighted the state&#8217;s NIH Institutional Development Award (IDeA) training programs&#8217; work and recognized their valuable contributions to improving Rhode Island&#8217;s biomedical research capacity. The virtual event was the first of its kind in Rhode Island and provided the state&#8217;s biomedical community with great networking opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>These PIs represent the prominent group of biomedical and clinical scientists who continually mentor junior faculty and advocate for their career and professional opportunities; however, we don\u2019t have the opportunity to learn about their significant and impactful research.<\/p>\n<p>This weekly forum was possible due to the downturn in research at their institutions and throughout our network during the COVID-19 pandemic.
