The symposium was designed to highlight clinical and environmental microbiome researcher in the state and the greater New England region. Over 100 researchers attended the two-day event that covered topics in the thematic areas of \u201cDiet and the Microbiome\u201d, \u201cPathogens, Antibiotics and the Microbiome\u201d, \u201cHealthy States: Commensal Microbiomes, Microbial Ecology\u201d, and \u201cBioinformatics\u201d.&nbsp; Two keynote speakers headlined the event. Dr. Tammy Lieberman from MIT gave a talk on \u201cDe novo mutations in human skin microbiomes\u201d and Dr. Sarah Hird gave a talk titled \u201cBirds and Bacteria: Evolution of the Avian Microbiome\u201d. Rounding out the symposium were over 30 local speakers, a poster session and vendor displays.&nbsp; Thank you to everyone who helped organize and who attended the symposium.
