The one-year project was awarded in August 2021 and is RI-INBRE\u2019s third Collaboration Supplement Award issued by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and totaling $174,389.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RI-INBRE Women\u2019s Health Supplemental Award<\/strong><br \/>\nThe first Women\u2019s Health Supplemental Award, created by the Office of Research on Women\u2019s Health, falls within RI-INBRE\u2019s thematic area of Environmental Health Sciences. &#8220;Targeting quiescent E. coli for prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections&#8221; is carried out by <strong>Dr. Susan Meschwitz<\/strong>, at <strong>Salve Regina University<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>Dr. Jodi Camberg<\/strong> and <strong>Dr. David Rowley<\/strong>, <strong>University of Rhode Island<\/strong> investigators. The $268,789 award was issued in September 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RI-INBRE Equipment Supplemental Award<\/strong><br \/>\nThe $209,364 supplemental equipment award, issued in September 2021 and originated by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, will purchase equipment for two RI-INBRE Centralized Core Facilities (CRCF) Extension Laboratories (CELs).&nbsp;&nbsp;At <strong>Providence College<\/strong>, the Keyence BZX Fluorescence Microscope will be installed in the Science Building LL53 (vivarium) under<strong>&nbsp;Dr. Victoria L. Templer<\/strong> of the Department of Psychology. <strong>Roger Williams University<\/strong> will receive a BD Biosciences Accuri C6 Plus flow cytometer to be installed in MNS 106 under the care of <strong>Dr. Christopher R.
