Opening remarks were given by <strong>University of Rhode Island<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;President Marc Parlange<\/strong>, <strong>Roger Williams University\u2019s Provost Margaret Everett<\/strong>, and <strong>URI\u2019s Interim Vice President of Research, Dr. Bethany Jenkins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>More than 140 undergraduate students from our network institutions across the state presented 119 scientific research posters at Avedisian Hall and the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering.&nbsp;Students were represented from <strong>RI-INBRE SURF, <\/strong><strong>SURF+<\/strong>, and <strong>Bridge to Graduate School<\/strong> programs, and the University of Rhode Island&#8217;s MARC U*STAR, and Science and Engineering programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-quote-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-quote  \"><blockquote>\u201cThe RI-INBRE program supports junior, early-career faculty, and student training. We have a very well-organized professional development program that provides a complete introduction to research\u201d<\/blockquote><cite>Dr. Bongsup Cho, RI-INBRE Program Director<\/cite><\/div><\/section>\n<div class=\"fullwidth\" style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Attendees included friends and family, faculty mentors, and staff from across the state and the <strong>University of Rhode Island, Brown University, Bryant University, Community College of Rhode Island, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, <\/strong>and<strong> Salve Regina University<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"cl-button  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/ri-surs\/\" title=\"\">Explore RI SURS<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The event culminates the<strong> 2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship <\/strong>(<strong>SURF<\/strong>) program that began on May 22nd.
